4 simple ways to create nature inspired looks this Spring
If you have been following us for sometime now, you already know our love affair with neutral colors and natural materials. It’s an absolute delight to play with these elements while designing. When put together well, the space ends up looking welcoming, brighter and cozy. One particular design element that we find timeless is natural materials or natural pieces straight from outdoors.
Here are a few of them to bring that natural charm to your homes
1. Pampass grass
Pampass grass as décor accessory has been trending on the internet for sometime now. This easy to buy, low maintenance and low cost grass fits well in any interior design style. So what is Pampass grass? Pampas grass is a tall grass that can reach a height of 3 meters. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant in some parts of the world and is considered in invasive species in areas outside its native South American range. When dried, the feathery flower head plumes are used in flower arrangements and other decorative pieces. Its neutral warm color and flowered texture make it a great décor choice along with indoor plants without needing much upkeep, as other plants do.
2. Natural-fibers
Amongst the list of soft décor pieces, those made of plant based natural fibers like cotton, jute, and hemp or from animals like wool or silk play a significant role to enhance the overall décor of the space. May it be beautifully crafted rugs, cushions, throws or art work, with their rich and beautiful textures, colors and weaving patterns, they complete the entire look and create a sense of visual balance.
3. Wood, wicker, raffia and rattan
Furniture and décor pieces made of natural materials is our all time favorite. Modern and clean designs combined with traditional materials and crafting techniques make for pieces that are timeless. These pieces go well with almost any décor just like some of the other décor made of natural materials for example a rich woolen rug with a beautifully crafted teak coffee table. The possibilities to enhance any space with these are endless. Some of the furniture pieces that top our list of favorites are made of Rattan and wood.
*Wicker is a weaving style that can be used for materials like willow, rattan, reed, and bamboo
4. Terracotta
For those unfamiliar with this beautiful material, terracotta by definition is unglazed, typically brownish-red earthenware, mainly used as an ornamental building material. Because of its beautiful natural earthy red color and natural properties, terracotta accessories look subtle and stunning. May it be sculptural pots, Lamps or wall murals, the earthy goodness cannot go unnoticed.
